A Sydney cleaning company has had its assets frozen for allegedly owing 51 employees more than $300,000.

The Fair Work Ombudsman has taken the rare step of securing interim Federal Court orders to freeze the assets of Sydney-based cleaning company Grouped Property Services. The regulator is also seeking penalties against Rosario Pucci, the company’s former owner and sole director, and his brother Enrico Pucci, the current owner and sole director. Read more

OSCE’s Work in Ukraine Being Hindered by US, Says Russia

Russia’s foreign minister has accused his US counterpart of hindering the OSCE’s work in Ukraine and urged him to stop, Moscow said, as fighting raged around the crash site of flight MH17.

In a telephone conversation, Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s foreign ministry said in a statement that he asked John Kerry to order his subordinates to stop hindering the OSCE from doing its current work. Read more

UN Security Council on MH17 Independent Investigation

US President Barack Obama has voiced outrage that the investigation into the downing of a Malaysian airliner was being hampered by Ukranian rebels and demanded Russian leader Vladimir Putin to force them to cooperate.

“The Russian-backed separatists continue to block the investigation. They’ve repeatedly prevented international investigators from gaining full access to the wreckage. As investigators approached they fired weapons into the air … All of which begs the question what exactly are they trying to hide?” Mr Obama asked angrily in a statement on the White House south lawn.
